Lance and Bridgette O’Sullivan are the proud owner operators of the Red Barn wedding and function venue near Karapiro, South of Hamilton. The business is a family affair with both Lance & Bridgette working closely in the business along with their two daughters, who have always worked at the Red Barn and have now flown the coup, but still actively involved as our social media guru’s.
Bridgette’s role as managing director is a hands-on role, she is actively involved on a day to day basis, and along with her business acumen she is always looking at new ways to develop and enhance their business. She is very passionate about the quality of service the venue provides, and loves being involved in making every couples wedding dream become a reality. Bridgette has an eye for style, sophistication and detail which is reflected throughout the historic Red Barn. Often you will see her up at the barn checking out new recipes for our delicious on trend menus, or personally welcoming wedding couples on their special day.

Lance is also involved in the business and fondly calls himself the “Aesthetics Manager”.  Lance has a huge passion for trees and nature, and over his lifetime he has planted more than 12,000 different varieties. You will regularly see him up at the barn overseeing the care of the stunning park-like grounds and attending to his trees.

Lance and Bridgette feel very privileged to have hosted so many beautiful weddings over the past 10 years.

Executive Chef

Harry is an exciting, multi-award-winning Chef with exceptional flare and an eye for detail. Harry delights in producing interesting and appetising menus, combining his love of utilising local produce and designing farm to plate style menus. This is a perfect match for the Red Barn, as we are renowned for our exceptional on trend catering which is of the highest quality. You will generally hear Harry before you see him with his infections laugh and cheeky personality, keep all the staff on their toes. His relaxed nature from his Samoan heritage comes through as nothing seems to rattle Harry, he is an expert at keeping everything running smoothly and on time!

Kamal started at the Red Barn three years ago as a junior chef and quickly started to show that he had a flair and love for cooking. Over time he has become an integral part of the kitchen team and enjoys learning from Harry on a daily basis. The staff love ‘curry Wednesday’s’ when Kamal gets a chance to show off his culinary skills from his home country.

Tayla Roa
Wedding and Events Manager

Tayla is a graduate from Queenstown Resort College and has been working at the Red Barn for over 2 years, originally starting as Bridgette’s assistant helping to run weddings and functions. It soon became obvious that she is one organised young lady, nothing is left to chance and every detail of your wedding or function will be meticulously taken care of. It wasn’t long before Tayla was promoted to her current role. Absolutely nothing rattles her, even when the Bride & Groom are an hour late back from photos and the Chefs are on her case…!!! You are in very good hands with Tayla at the helm.
